What could Joe Cocker, Mott the Hoople, Edison Lighthouse and The Rapiers possibly have in common?
Our own gadabout Ralph Gowling (incidentally, on the mend after a recent surgery) knows.
"Jet Harris's autumn Me and My Shadows concerts will feature a new backing Songbird in Sue Glover, one half of the Sue and Sunny recording duo from the '60s and '70s," he writes. "Besides their own material, the sisters were in the five-member studio group that recorded the first Brotherhood of Man hit United We Stand. They were also on Edison Lighthouse's Love Grows (Where My Rosemary Grows), worked with the likes of Mott the Hoople, Lulu and Joe Cocker, and sang on many other hits. Sunny had a Top 10 hit in her own right with Doctor's Orders."
