Bless Mojo Magazine, a modern music journal that gets the past right time after time, according early British rock 'n' roll its proper due in the pop pantheon.
Latest case in point: The Shadows' epic, 1960 recording of "Apache" makes the June issue's "100 Records That Changed the World!" feature, twanging in at No. 84, five places ahead of Oasis's "Definitely Maybe" LP.
Contemporary singer-songwriter Richard Hawley genuflects on the majesty of it all. I'm sure Colin Pryce-Jones would concur (erm, minus the f-expletives and LSD bit).
